Plant after March 15th, in rows 3 feet apart. Dig beds 18 inches deep. Place several inches of cow manure in the bottom of the bed and cover with 3 to 4 inches of clean rich soil. Plant crowns 14 inches apart and cover with 2 inches of soil. As spears grow, fill remaining 6 inches with soil. Make a partial harvest the following spring and a full harvest the next spring.
